Worn Out!! (...and a Give-Away)

No, it's not me that's worn out (although I could use a nap right now)...It's my pen!  After working on so many faux embroidery projects, I realized I was having to go over the same spot several times and it wasn't looking so good.

Then I totaled it up and realized I'd made somewhere around 8+ faux embroideries, plus 20+ fabric postcards (that tutorial is coming...promise!).  It was just too much for one pen to handle.  So I got online and ordered a replacement...or two actually...

...plus one for you!

(No, the company didn't ask me to do this...I just figured since the shipping is more than the pen...and the same for 3 pens as it is for 1, I'd get extras.  This is my favorite pen for faux embroidery the Fabric Ball and Brush Pigmented Double Ended Fabric Marker by Marvy Uchida.)

If you're interested in trying out some faux embroidery yourself, now's your chance to win a pen.  (Or if you're not into faux embroidery it's just an all around great fabric pen.)  And here's the best part...the winner will also get your choice of a free pattern from Twin Stitchers.

Here's how to enter:
  1. Be a follower of Helping Little Hands either through your blog reader or Facebook and leave a comment telling me you're a follower and something fun about yourself.
  2. Head over to Twin Stitchers and look around at all of Coley's amazing patterns.  Then come back here and tell me what your favorite one is in another comment.
  3. This is a little unrelated to crafts, but my Hubby is trying to win $2500 for his classroom in science supplies.  Our school could really use it.  He wins if his video demonstration gets the most "likes."  PLEASE GO HERE to "like" Hubby's science demo video on Facebook.  Then come back here and tell me you did in a comment and that will be good for an extra entry.
I'll choose one winner via a random number generator on Wednesday, June 15th.

For some inspiration, here are a few of the faux embroidery projects I've done so far.

  16. I'm a follower. As soon as I saw your tutorial for the family tree I went and bought the pattern, went out to the store and got the muslin and looked in every craft/fabric store in town for the pen. I couldn't find them anywhere and so have yet to actually make this project. I would love to win a pen! Oh, and something about me...I'm a blog/web designer/SAHM/digi-scrapper/craft attempter all in one. ;)
