Babies Love Wallets!! - Super Easy (& Cheap) Gift Idea

A couple months ago, I showed you the loot Sweet Pea got for her birthday.  She loves to play with wallets to Hubby's mom made her some really cute cards to fit in a wallet, so we wouldn't have to worry about her losing our driver's licenses or bank cards.  If you're looking for an easier option, here it is...
I saw this fun idea on Little Page Turners a while ago to use paint samples to make free and easy color books.  Last time I was at Wal-Mart, I picked some up, but the size is PERFECT for baby wallets.  I'll have to go get more to make color books with.
They're the right width, but extra long, so easier for those little fingers to pull out.
Sweet Pea definitely approves!

So when you're at a thrift store, be on the lookout for wallets with lots of credit card pockets.  The more pockets the better.  Then snatch them up.  Fill them with paint samples and you've got the perfect 1-year-old gift!

  3. hmmmm . . . wish I had this little idea a few months ago when my youngest took everything out of my wallet and hid each item in various spots around the house . . . still looking for a credit card and a few other items. :)

  10. This is BRILLIANT! I just found you through One Pretty Thing and I'm so glad I did. I'm heading out to Goodwill tomorrow and finding a wallet with lots of slots and then heading to Home Depot for the paint chips. No more searching for the missing credit card under the couch or trying to sneak my credit card out of my wallet at the store without my son seeing me -- sweeeeeet!

  11. I love this idea! My daughter loved taking apart my wallet when she was little and my boy (just 7 months old) starts doing it already, too!
Giving him his own wallet to take apart will save mine AND keep him busy for a while. I think it would alos be a great thing to keep in the car to keep him busy on car rides ...
    Thanks for that great idea!!!
